When Rufus awoke, he was lying spread-eagled on his bed with a dull ache in his head and most of his limbs. He heaved himself up and gingerly put his feet onto the floor. Finding he was ok to walk, he made his way down to the lab. Steven was already there, logging something into the computer.
It didn’t take Rufus long to get used to his new environment. He was in his element, up to his eyes in reports and samples. He had bored his friends and relatives half to death with regular telephone updates on what the pack was doing – apart from Jake, who rarely let him get a word in edgeways (He had forgiven his brother for leaving and the two were thick as thieves again).
“Ride into the danger zone!”
Rufus threw his head out of the car window, basking in the bright morning sunshine as he sang along at the top of his lungs. He was revelling in the marvellous, two day pocket of freedom between leaving home and starting his new job. For the first time in his life he had nothing to worry about at all: his mother and Jake were safe at home, and in just a few hours he would be embarking upon the career he had always dreamed of. It seemed like nothing could go wrong, at least until he felt his truck gently begin to swerve to the side. He ducked his head back inside and scrabbled to get a hold of the wheel.
“Danger indeed,” he remarked to himself, steering back onto the path.
“Rufus honey, breakfast.”
Rufus mumbled a vague reply and buried his face in the bedclothes. He inhaled deeply, drinking in the familiar scent of home. He hadn’t slept in his old bed since long before his graduation, and within only a few hours he would be leaving again. Never mind if the bacon went cold; he was determined to relish the opportunity to relax for as long as possible. Sadly, that opportunity was cut short all too soon by something wriggly and cold diving into the bed beside him.
I am delighted to announce that I finally have something to put in The Gallery, and that StrangeTown Monty finally has its first official piece of fan art! Hyde Invasion are a Simlish metal band consisting of Dr Prometheus Hyde and four of his Racing Men – an interesting departure from science, cars and football 😉
Recently, a friend of mine set me a challenge to write a screenplay using premade characters from the Sims 2. What resulted is this interesting little tale of sibling rivalry, despicable deals and some drugs with interesting and somewhat familiar properties…
If you’re here, then chances are you’ve probably already read A Garden of Roses, my Sims 2 PlantSim story. However, I would like to announce that the first story that is not Sims-related has been released onto the shelves of the Library.
The Silk Curtain is a short story about a very mysterious exhibit in a shop which elicits a somewhat unique reaction from anyone who looks behind it…
I cannot claim this is my best work, but nevertheless I hope you enjoy it 🙂
